Teresa Sapey is one of the golden names in national interior design. Her studio, founded in 1990, has acquired international relevance thanks to her designs, always harmonious and unique, whose unmistakable style has made her a regular feature in the most prestigious publications in the sector.
Teresa Sapey is pure energy. Her passion for design, so Italian, shines through in every aspect of her personality: overwhelming, very artistic, very Turinese, but in love with Madrid, where she has lived and worked since 1990. You will recognise her for her use of pain, especially white and orange, as well as for her taste for pop plastic and her risky choices, but also for the more sober details and for her mastery in the treatment of materials, very much in the style of her admired Gio Ponti.
As an architect, Teresa has a very personal vision of spaces, which is why she designs the furniture in many of her projects and in collaboration with brands such as Vondom. Her transgressive spirit and the use of colour as a tool of expression must be understood as a reaction to a childhood in a very rigid environment in the use of interiors. In fact, she always remembers that her grandfather and great-grandfather were furniture collectors and that her room looked like a time capsule in which nothing could be altered: "All my friends had posters -she recognised to Arquitectura y Diseño- and I couldn't hang a single one".
After winning the Architectural Digest award for interior designer of the year or Wallpaper's "Breakthrough Designer", Teresa Sapey + Partners has continued to grow and now has a multidisciplinary team that has worked for Ikea, ARCO, or Indigo Hotels, among many others. In addition, with projects as important as the refurbishment of the Palacio de Congresos in Madrid, or their participation in the Hotel Puerta de América and the refurbishment of the Estación del Norte, both in Madrid, their studio has established itself as an essential part of the design scene in the capital.
In our Onix residential complex, designed by Manuel Clavel in Torrelodones, Teresa once again demonstrates her know-how by playing with materials, textures and a colour palette inspired by the natural richness of the surroundings. Thus, with a delicate and neutral chromatic range, the main pieces of each room stand out without breaking the harmony, defining each space in a subtle and coherent way, to create a warm and comfortable home. In his own words: "The project proposes the integration of local nature into the house through its materials and finishes. The result is a house that blurs the boundaries between exterior and interior and dialogues with the environment to generate an atmosphere of peace and quality of life".
